Congratulations to our DCO
Dance Company kids for their spectacular performance at
the first dance competition attended by The Dance Centers of Orlando Company.
Dance Centers of Orlando attended Starpower,
a tough competition in April 2010.
Highlights:
DCO received some special group awards, getting a special award at Starpower (especially our first competition ever... is outstanding!)
The DCO Dance Company Lyrical Dance, Imagine, choreographed by
Karla Garcia received the "Musicality Award".
The DCO Company Musical Theater Dance, Knights of the Round Table (choreographed by Laura Williams), received the "Personality Plus Award"
and won 1st place in its category.
The DCO Dance Company placed in the top ten for Junior Duet/Trios with
Lyrical Dance, Chasing Cars, choreographed by
Casey Saxon.
The DCO Company placed in the top ten for Mini Junior Duet/Trios with Ooh La La, a
Jazz Dance routine choreographed by
Laura Williams.
The DCO Dance Company placed in the top ten for Small Junior Group, with Working in a Coalmine, a
Tap Dance routine choreographed by
Laura Williams. Working in a Coalmine also received an Overall
Best Junior Group Award.
Dance Centers of Orlando Company Juniors were AMAZING! Our young ones have come along way from bubbles!
Chasing Cars and Senior Contemporary Dance Solo, Zombie Insomniac (choreographed by
Casey Saxon), received
DCO's highest scores, with 4.75 stars each.
The only way forward is UP!
